Dr Gunasagaran Gounder Fiji ke ek Hindustani doctor hae, jon ki uu time jaana maana bhais jab ke uu 1999 ke election me National Federation Party ke leader Jai Ram Reddy ke Yasawa Nawaka Open Constituency seat me harais rahaa. He jiit ke baad uske Mahendra Chaudhry ke Peoples Coalition Government me Assistant Minister for Health banawa gais.[1]

19 May 2000 ke, Goundar uu 43 People's Coalition Government ke member me se ek rahaa, jiske George Speight aur uske rebel Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) soldiers from the Counter Revolutionary Warfare Unit hostage le liis rahaa. 56 din ke baad, uske 13 July 2000 ke chhorra gais rahaa.[2]

2001 se 2006 talak uu Nadi Rural Indian Communal Constituency ke represent karis. Ii uu 19 communal seat me se ek hae jiske Fiji ke Hindustani logan ke khatir reserve karaa gais hae. 2001 ke election me uske 69% vote mila rahaa.

2003 me Goundar ke Prime Minister, Laisenia Qarase, Minister for Health ke position ke offer karis, lekin uu aur 13 FLP ke member ke saathe iske inkaar kar diis.[3]

2006 ke election, me Gounder, Nadi Urban Indian Communal Constituency se kharra bhais jisme uske 76 percent vote mila. Iske baad uu. nau aur FLP Ministers ke saathe Cabinet me gais jahaan pe uske as Minister for Curative Health Services banawa gais.
