2006 ke election, jon ki 6 May se 13 May talak bhais rahaa, tiisra election rahaa jon ki 1997 ke constitution ke niche larraa gais rahaa. Ii constitution ke niche Fiji ke House of Representatives me 71 member rahaa, jisme se 25 member. Open seat (common roll) se chuna gais rahaa aur 46 mmember Communal Constiteuncy se chunak gais rahaa. Isme Kaviti logan khatir 23 seat, Hindustani ke khatir 19 seat, General elector logan ke khati 3 seat au Rotuman ke khatir 1 seat reserved rahaa.
