Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), India me engineering aur science intitutions ke ek network hae. Iske 1950 me suruu karaa gais rahaa aur ii Indian sarkar ke niche hae, jisme Instituttes of Technologirs Act 1961 me pass karaa gais rahaa.[1] Ii Act ke niche ii sab institute ke adhikaar, aur duty ke define karaa gais hae.[2] Ii act ke niche 23 IITs hae. Sab IIT apne se chalaawa jaae hae lekin ek common council, jiske IIT Council bola jaae hae ke niche hae. India ke Minister of Education ke ex officio member hae. [3]
